  • Light Painting

We did a really cool Light Painting assignment in my photo media class on November 16th 2022 it was a really fun assignment to do/work on and these are some of my photos from the assignment Photo 1 This photo is a simple one of my name. I used my phone flashlight with a red rock over it to make the red light and had the shutter speed open for 20 seconds in a dark room. It was a little difficult because instead of mirroring the image to show my name written I had to write the letters backwards since I was facing the camera. Photo 2 This photo shows Hunter standing in front of the camera and I used the flashlight on my phone to put an angelic halo over his head, it was a fun little idea and I think it looks pretty cool. Photo 3 For this photo I used a couple of different colored rocks over my phone flashlight. Im no artist but I tried making a broken heart surrounded by a wide circle. It kind of looks like I wanted it to but it defiantly isn't perfect. I still think it looks pretty cool and people can see it in their own perspectives. Photo 4 This is a simple photo, I had the lens open for 15 seconds and simply made a circle motion that got smaller and smaller to make it look like a hole with depth. It looks like a cool orb of some sort and I like how the blue really lights up the room. Photo 5 This is a photo that had the shutter open for 20 seconds I simply traced my brother Connor with a green light. It's cool because you can see a highlight of him but its a bit hard to actually see him. its a simple photo but I like it. Those were my 5 photos and I hope you liked them, Thanks for reading and taking the time to look at my work.

  • Photo Advertisment

Another one of my favorite assignments this year was based on photography of certain objects and items to look like an advertisement of the item/object. We did this assignment on November first of 2022, it was a really cool experience because I was able to experiment with the backgrounds of my pictures and different lighting as well. For this assignment we needed to take a pictures of whatever object(s) we decided. Then we needed a catch phrase or saying over the image as well as the logo of the product. You can see the images below and a little bit about them as well. This is my favorite photo from this assignment - SAMSUNG S22 ULTRA The first image is the photo and the second image is the advertisement piece. This photo was highlighting the Samsung S22 Ultra Smartphone along with the attached S Pen built into the phone. I really like the dark pattern behind the phone matching it. On the second photo you can see it says its not a phone its a galaxy, this refers to the phone being a part of the Samsung Galaxy series of smartphones which I thought was clever. my Next product was GoPro - GOPRO HERO 7 BLACK The first image is the photo and the second image is the advertisement piece. The next photo I took was highlighting the GoPro Hero 7 Black that's a part of their Hero series. Its a simple one of the GoPro sitting in a bunch of leaves and leaning against a rock. I did this to kind of show the durability of a GoPro and that's it supposed to be used and even abused by nature its built for it. I added the saying GO PRO as a spin off of the company name conveying the message to Go Pro with GoPro. My last Product was LEGO - LEGO FORD RAPTOR TECHNIC The first image is the photo and the second image is the advertisement piece. The Last photo I took for this assignment was a photo of my Lego Ford Raptor truck. I have it outside setup on a rock and pretty close to the camera to make it look almost life size. On the advertisement part I chose to say Be Creative next to the Lego logo. I did this because of the creativity that you can show with Legos and that you can really build anything with them. those are the three advertisement photos I took for my Photo Media assignment in school. There is always room for improvement and it was my first time taking pictures like this but I personally really like the way they turned out. Thank you for reading this blog and taking time to look at my work.

  • Composition in Photography

One of my first and favorite assignments in my photography class this year (10/14/22) was dealing with different compositions in my photos. There are many different compositions and guides you can use when taking photos that are used best for different situations and scenes to make your photo stand out. This was a really fun assignment and its something that you use in almost every photo you take. I use these compositions a lot and I really like the photos that result from using them. Below are my favorite photos from my assignment and a little bit about them. This is one of my photos using the Rule of Thirds. This was one of the first photos I took in this class, this is one of the many lights bringing life to the football field on Friday nights game days at my school. The Rule of Thirds positions this photo to the Right side of the frame instead of being dead centered in the photo. This is a photo I took using what's called Leading Lines. This is a picture of my twin brother, I took this in the stands overlooking our local high school Football field. The Leading Lines Composition uses the seats in the stands as guides leading toward the main point of the photo which is my brother. This photo was taken with the composition Depth with a little bit of framing as well. This photo has 3 main Depths the first one being the buildings and stands, the second being the colorful large trees behind the buildings, and lastly the hills with the logged clear cut and woods around it. There is also a bit of framing as you can see the wood wrapping around the bottom and left side of the image. This picture shows a little of the area around our school which I think looks cool and in all looks really good to me.
